Arlene Sierra's oeuvre is the focus of Gramophone's February 2024 Contemporary Composer feature.
Richard Whitehouse champions Sierra's "substantial and individual work" in a two-page spread starting with her earliest acknowledged piece (a cello duo) through to her Takemitsu Prize-winning orchestral work ‘Aquilo’ and Latin Grammy-nominated ‘Moler’, to recent “suspenseful” and “scintillating” commissions for the BBC Philharmonic, Utah Symphony, and Detroit Symphony. Also featured are her recordings with Bridge Records (3 critically-acclaimed portrait discs) and the EP ‘Urban Birds’ with NMC Recordings.
